Cold Rolled Steel Specialists

Steve Smallman – Commercial Director

Steve has a long history with Colter Steels and led the takeover of the business in 2008. Together with operations director Colin Giles, Steve has worked with staff to expand the product range and is very proud of the team and the service Colter Steels offers.

Colin Giles – Operations Director

A key player in the takeover team in 2008, Colin is responsible for the operational side of the business and for ensuring the smooth running of the production department.

General Steel Specialist

Matt Thompson

Matt is our sales executive and brings with him almost 20 years’ experience in the steel trade, having worked for Servosteel, Shearing, Matrix Steel Services and Sebden Steel. Matt enjoys watching football and has a passion for holidays and travel.

Carbon Steel Specialist

Sam Tonkinson

With 27 years in the steel industry, steel is in her blood! Having a wide knowledge of many of the processes having worked in many departments, Sam prides herself on her ability to deliver a high level of customer service. Away from the office nothing beats a bit of retail therapy and socialising with family and friends.

Administration Specialists

Julie Whittall

Julie started work as an administrator at Colter Steels in 2015 following a career break to bring up her two boys. At home, Julie loves nothing more than spending quality time with her family.

In January 2019 Julie was promoted to head up the accounts department.

Dawn Bates

After leaving Colter Steels in 2004, after 8 years, to enhance her career, an opportunity to return to Colter arose early in 2019.

The Company has grown dramatically within the last 14 years and she is pleased to be back and be part of the team.

Adam Perks

Adam joined Colter Steels in 2019, to support the financial and administration side of the business. Outside of work, he enjoys sport, playing Rugby most weekends, and spending time with his family.
